DJ Mal is a versatile DJ and music curator based in Philadelphia. With a wealth of knowledge spanning musical genres, he’s well known for his keen ability to tap into the vibe of a crowd and create an enjoyable, inclusive party atmosphere. DJ Mal’s engaging personality, eclectic taste, technical skillset on the turntables, and quality professionalism set him apart from the rest.

LEGENDS ARE BORN
Inspired by his late mother and legendary Philly DJs who came before him, DJ Mal first became passionate about DJing as an adolescent. Mal admired the way in which the DJ could coax intricate sounds out of records all while controlling a crowd and taking them on a musical journey.
No matter if the DJ played on the radio, at a block party or at a live concert, Mal paid close attention to all the detailed attributes that made that DJ entertaining. Long before he would ever touch his first piece of equipment, Mal made a conscious decision that one day he would share his love of music with the world through the art of DJing.
STUDENT OF THE GAME
As a former student of Jam Master Jay’s SCRATCH DJ Academy, Mal had the opportunity to study under some of Philly’s most respected DJs, such Rich Medina, Sat-One, Cosmo Baker and DJ Mike Nyce. From that experience, he created a foundation and acquired tools needed to excel as a professional DJ.
By constantly challenging himself to be the most creative DJ and curator possible, Mal remains a dedicated student of the craft: studying the artform, sharpening his technical skills, broadening his knowledge of music and developing his own personal style.
RESPECT THE CRAFT
Since his first live set as a professional, DJ Mal has become known for his ability to create a positive vibe and perform for diverse audiences in various settings. Over the years, he’s played in local hot spots throughout Philly, DJed at city wide music festivals, opened on stages for platinum selling artists, and worked with notable organizations such as Comcast, Fitler Club, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
Always searching for new ways to impress crowds during his sets, Mal continues to gain supporters and increase his value every time he gets behind the turntables.
